During her photo shoot with Tom Munro in New York City, Scarlett Johansson brought some heat to the set. However, Allure came up with a clever solution to prevent her from getting too hot under the studio lights – they dressed her in lingerie. Check out the exclusive photos from the shoot here, featuring images by Xavier Muniz, Tom Munro, Xavier Muniz (3), Tom Munro, Xavier Muniz, and Jarrod Lacks (2).
During the shoot, Paul Cavaco, the creative director of Allure, provided Scarlett Johansson with an Agent Provocateur bustier to wear. He jokingly commented that at least he brought clothes for her this time, recalling a previous shoot where the actress was nearly topless for her November 2006 cover. Scarlett replied wittily stating that it’s always the story of her life, wanting her to be in her underwear. Johansson always dreamt of getting married and having children, but she never had a specific plan for it. She says her life is progressing naturally and she didn’t have a preconceived idea of what it would be like. She got married to actor Ryan Reynolds in September, and while some girls may have envisioned their wedding day forever, Johansson says her life is just unfolding in its own way. When asked about how she and Reynolds met, Johansson remains tight-lipped, saying it’s a private matter and their story alone to share.
Garren fashioned a feminine style for Johansson, reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot. He applied volumizing spray to her damp locks, dried them with a blow dryer, and used hot rollers to set them. Once the rollers were taken out, he brushed through the curls and backcombed the hair near the top of her head. Johansson couldn’t believe how amazing her natural hair looked and raved that it was ideal for any festive event.
According to renowned makeup artist Stephane Marais, Scarlett is the epitome of modern-day beauty. To enhance her already stunning features, he decided to create an updated version of the classic 1950s look. By blending peachy-pink blush and bronzer onto her milky complexion, he was able to add warmth to her cheeks. For one of the looks, Marais used black liquid liner and shimmery bronze shadow, while for the other, he applied dark brown shadow in the crease and taupe across the entire lid. To finish both looks, he added black mascara and nude gloss, resulting in a sophisticated and glamorous appearance.
Johansson will be gracing the big screen this month in The Spirit, a movie based on a comic book and directed by Frank Miller. Interestingly, there wasn’t a part initially written for her in the script. However, Miller was so impressed by Johansson’s intelligence and wit during their lunch meeting that he decided to create a role just for her. It’s not difficult to see why – in addition to her stunning looks, Johansson has a quick mind and sharp sense of humor that are hard to ignore. Katy Perry once revealed that Scarlett Johansson’s lips served as her muse for the hit song “I Kissed a Girl.” Johansson was surprised by this revelation and jokingly commented that she should get a portion of the profits. However, she humbly acknowledged the nod as a compliment but mentioned that her lips were already committed elsewhere.
Johansson can be considered as a new addition to Woody Allen’s circle of female actresses like Diane Keaton and Mia Farrow. The actress believes that if they ever met, they would have lots to discuss. She thinks that the women in Allen’s life have influenced the roles he creates for them, reflecting their neuroses, passions, good qualities, and bad qualities. Johansson praises Allen for his excellent portrayal of female characters.
Despite being cast in four recent films by Woody Allen, Scarlett Johansson does not consider herself a muse for the filmmaker. She believes that she just happens to fit into the “young woman” category of his movies and does not inspire his work. Johansson acknowledges that if it were not her, someone else would take on the role. The actress has taken on new roles as a singer and director, with the release of her Tom Waits cover album titled “Anywhere I Lay My Head” and her upcoming directorial debut in February as part of the “New York, I Love You” anthology.
Johansson has been a favorite of critics since she was young, displaying a great emotional depth in her performances. She is known for her professionalism, never missing a day of work or walking off the set.
